Amazon product URLs are huge, full of tracking cruft, and impossible to remember. Shortening one gives you a clean, shareable, trackable link. If you're an affiliate, there's one thing to get right: keep your tag. Here's how.
First, trim the Amazon URL (optional)
A clean Amazon link is usually just amazon.com/dp/ASIN (the ASIN is the 10-character product ID). If you're an affiliate, keep your tag: amazon.com/dp/ASIN?tag=yourtag-20. Don't remove that tag= parameter — it's how you get credit.
Shorten it
- Copy your product URL (with the affiliate tag if you use one).
- Paste it into lynkily and shorten — add a branded slug like
go.yourbrand.com/pick. - Share it; watch clicks in analytics.
The short link redirects with your tag intact, so affiliate credit still works — and now you can see how many people clicked.
Track which channel converts
Add UTM parameters (or use separate short links per channel) to compare your newsletter vs YouTube vs Instagram. Amazon's own reports show orders; your short link shows the clicks that drove them.
Disclose your affiliate links
Wherever you post affiliate links, add a clear disclosure (e.g. "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases") — it's required and builds trust.
