Branded short links on your own domain (like go.yourbrand.com/sale) look trustworthy and get clicked more than generic ones. Here's how to set a custom domain up for your short links, step by step.
Why use your own domain
- Trust & clicks — people click links they recognize. See why branded links get more clicks.
- Brand on every share — your name, not a random shortener's.
- You own it — your links, your domain, your analytics.
Step 1: Pick a domain or subdomain
Use a short subdomain of a domain you own — go., link., or l. (e.g. go.yourbrand.com). You can also register a brand-new short domain just for links.
Step 2: Add the domain in lynkily
In Custom domains, add your subdomain. lynkily shows you the exact DNS record to create.
Step 3: Point DNS
- In your DNS provider, add a CNAME record for
gopointing to the target lynkily shows (or an A record to the given IP). - Save and wait a few minutes for DNS to propagate.
- Back in lynkily, click Verify. HTTPS is provisioned so your links are secure.
Step 4: Start using it
New short links can now use your domain, and you can add a custom slug per link. Turn them into QR codes or add UTMs as usual — all tracked in analytics.
