How to Geo-Target a Short Link (Send Visitors by Country)

If you sell or publish in more than one country, sending everyone to the same page is a missed opportunity. Geo-targeting lets one short link route each visitor to the right localized site, store, or offer automatically.

How geo-targeting works

You add country rules to a link (e.g. US → your US store, UK → your UK store). When someone clicks, lynkily checks their country and forwards them to the matching URL — everyone else goes to the default destination.

How to geo-target a link (step by step)

  1. Create a short link to your default/global page.
  2. Open it and click EditSmart targeting.
  3. Click + Country rule, choose a country and paste the URL for that region.
  4. Repeat for each country you serve. Save.
  5. Share the single link — visitors are routed by country automatically.

Great uses

  • Regional stores or pricing pages.
  • Language-specific landing pages.
  • Country-specific app stores or promotions.

You can combine country rules with A/B testing and device routing. It's included on every paid plan from $3/mo — see pricing. New here? Read what a URL shortener is.
